My vision is that Asbury Park students receive a Blue-Ribbon education and graduate equipped to follow their chosen path—whether that’s college, trade school, or entering the workforce, and that all go on to become successful individuals and contributing members of society.

Jean Grossman

Jean Grossman, is a New Jersey native and a resident of Asbury Park for over 13 years. Jean is running for school board because she believes every child deserves a results-oriented education that enables them to succeed—and every resident deserves accountability. Jean began her career as an hourly restaurant employee and put herself through college, ultimately rising to become President, Chief Operating Officer, and Board Member for national brands and franchise systems across both private and publicly traded companies. With more than 30 years of executive leadership experience, she has helped organizations grow by investing in people, improving performance, and delivering measurable results—skills that will serve her well as a school board member. Jean currently serves on the board of a national restaurant chain and is a former board member of the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to serving children facing illness and food insecurity. Locally, she has volunteered with Community Karma’s Christmas and backpack drives, and coached a Little League softball team—with plans to return to the field in 2026. Jean is married to Maria Torres, an educator with 23 years of experience; their son lives and works in Asbury Park. Whether supporting working families, renters, or longtime residents on fixed incomes, Jean understands the urgency of improving educational outcomes without runaway costs. She is not a politician. She’s a pragmatic, people-first leader who listens, builds consensus, and gets things done.  "My vision is that Asbury Park students receive a Blue-Ribbon education and graduate equipped to follow their chosen path—whether that’s college, trade school, or entering the workforce, and that all go on to become successful individuals and contributing members of society."
